Thor, Male Greenland Dog
Innokenti, Male Adol. Wolf Hybrid
Nome - Town Square
He wanders close to the General Store, but only to bask happily on its steps. The greenland dog wasn't looking for scraps cause he was no stray, just looking for a comfortable place to lounge. Head slides down upon his white feet and the male casually lets his dark eyes scan the square for any familiar face, or simply one that peeks his interest. Thor grunts softly, tail giving a light thumb as a human passes him to wander into the store.
There's something hidden in the shadows beneath the general store, unnoticed by most of the people wandering past on their daily business. It's something large and shaggy, with pointed ears and eyes that glint a feral yellow when they catch the light. ...THUNK. Those eyes disappear for a minute as their owner shuts them in annoyance; the human that just passed Thor apparently walks heavy, because a shower of dirt's just come down and hit the creature on the head. It growls, the sound low and protesting, and slithers out from underneath the porch. Innokenti shakes himself off--the gesture looks to be as much an attempt at regaining his lost dignity than anything else, like a cat grooming itself after it's just fallen off of a windowsill.
Thor blinks, ears perking as the growling reaches his ears and the greenland lifts his head to peer at the wooden steps he's sprawled upon. Whatthe... As Innokenti reveals himself the male grins, faintly, but he does grin and relaxes if only faintly. "That's the only downfall to lounging beneith the steps," Thor rummbles, a light chuckle following afterwards. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." The male can see this dog is a wolf mix, and unlike most other dogs he doesn't care. They're all in the same family as he sees it, might as well treat them like it.
His fur /is/ dusty now, though. He twists, licking at his shoulder, but when Thor speaks the hybrid's ears perk and he turns around--there's a cobweb hanging over one of his eyes, which he seems to become aware of after a minute, pawing it off. The greenland dog is unfamiliar, but at least he seems polite. Still, it's always strange and occasionally nerve-wracking encountering random dogs outside of what feels like his territory, especially alone; the wolf in him doesn't like it. It's more cautious. "They should watch where they're stomping their feet," he grunts. "Good place for a nap, though."
Thor chuckles and dips his head, "Indeed. Names Thor, sorry if I'm intruding upon your safe haven, the steps here though catch the right amount of light this time of day," the greenland murmurs, a crooked smile cross his maw as he stretches out his front legs. He's come to notice most hybrids are relatively cautious, more so then most dogs. He doesn't see that as a bad thing, he's just never had that feeling before honestly.
Indeed, a wolf caught alone is much more skittish than a dog. However, the /dog/ in him is much friendlier, which could create some...interesting...problems. But, fortunately, it can also balance out--so while he's still a bit unsure of himself, he's also willing to accept the other's kindness. "Innokenti," he replies, dipping his head in turn. And then: "Oh, it's not /mine/. I just invited myself in." A smile ghosts briefly across his face. "It's sort of a popular spot anyway."
Thor can't help but laugh at this. "Well that always works," indeed it does! Inviting oneself in is always the easy fix to /anything/. XD Bwaha. The greenland pushes himself up onto his haunches and yawns widely, jaws clicking together shortly afterwards. "Yeah.. it can be rather over crowded sometimes can't it.." he mrrs. "So, forgive me for asking, do you call somewhere home or do you travel between places?" Nice way of asking if he's a stray? Probably.
He'd been carrying himself a bit low, but when Thor laughs his head raises a little, ears perking forward again. His smile's back, and while it's small it's more relaxed than before. "It can. It's a little overwhelming," Innokenti admits, and then skitters out of the way as somebody else brushes past him to go up the stairs. Case in point! "Oh, I stay wherever, pretty much." He's negligent, maybe a little exaggeratedly so. Nothing wrong with /that/, nope. It's not stressful at all! Which is why he practically jumped out of his skin when somebody walked by him. But he looks fairly well-fed, so at least he seems capable of scrounging up his own food.
Thor nods his head at the hybrids words before his eyes dart to the human who passes and then back. The greenland lifts himself and wanders down the steps to head down the side of the road, nodding his head to Inn' to follow if he wishes where it was a little less crowded. "Sounds like a good time," the burly dog chuckles. Indeed, Thor finds spending your nights wherever you please exciting and thrilling. Granted he loves George little abode, every once in awhile the dog will slumber outside just for fun. "There's an old barn closer to the outskirts of town. I think it's abandoned, you could probably find some good stays there with less interactions with humans?" he suggests.
"Definitely a good time," the hybrid agrees; it's hard to tell if he's being serious or if it's just that he has a dry sense of humour. He pauses a minute when Thor gestures for him to follow, but does trot after--he's a leggy thing, so he moves quick. "You know that old building by the train tracks? I've stayed there a few times. It's pretty easy to get into." Well, considering that the windows are broken and the door's ajar half the time. The only problem is that kids come by sometimes and dare each other to go in; there are probably some rumours that it's haunted. Then again, they probably come by the barn too. Innokenti is convinced that they're magnetically attracted to places they shouldn't be.
Thor nods his head, "Yeah I know the place." The male sits casually back upon his haunches and stretches his feet idly. "There's a lot of human places that are easy to get into, its just wether or not your supposed to be there," he laughs. Thor glances down the road, Georges house was usually easy to enter, at least for him. If he didn't just nudge the door open he would whine pathetically until George opened it for him. Bwahah. >D The male scratches at his neck idly, rattling a collar, before shifting his weight. "Its actually pretty quite... I was expecting more humans to be out and about."
"If you're not supposed to be, they'll kick you sometimes." His brows have furrowed, but when Thor stops again he does too, settling onto his haunches and looking around. At least they're not sitting right in front of the general store anymore, so people aren't going by constantly. "There are more than enough, I thought. Maybe it's too cold for them." He sounds amused--the very thought of no one wanting to go out because it's too cold in /Alaska/ is a funny one. Nobody would /ever/ leave their houses, except in the summer.
Thor chuckles deeply to himself and nods his head, "Perhaps." Thor might not show it but he was getting on in his years. Not quite in his prime any more the male wasn't /old/, god forbid, just not young anymore. XD Thor shifts his weight and glances up and down the town square. He wasn't looking for his owner, he knew he wouldn't be here until there were less people milling about and he really really had to be. Thor glances back to the other and tilts his head curiously, "So Inno', any family?"
In contrast, Innokenti seems rather younger--he's maybe a year and a half old, still a bit gawky. That would explain why he seems rather more trusting than most strays, let alone hybrids. And much more willing to answer questions. "No. What about you?" He's curious. "You've got a collar." Which is, apparently, /terribly/ interesting. His mother was a stray, too, so the thought of living with humans is at once alien and utterly fascinating.
Thor shakes his head, "I do, but they're far away. I can't really remember how I got here but I ended up in the kennel and George found me. He's the human I live with, he's been taking care of me ever since." The dog dips his muzzle and nods, "Yup, gift from George. He takes it off every now'n then but it's just so someone doesn't snatch me up I guess." The greenland stretches his legs once more before standing, "It was a pleasure meeting you Innokenti, I gotta get going but I'll se you around." And with that Thor turns and begins to pad slowly down the road towards home, tail swaying side to side behind him.
